NSEHeaderRealIt has come to the notice of the Council of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) that a group of persons has registered a parallel body

with Corporate Affairs Commission with the name Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers.

In accordance with Article 3 (l) of the Articles of Association of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (revised May, 2022), all members are hereby notified that the Council of the Nigerian Society of Engineers created, and therefore, only recognizes The Nigerian Institution of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (NIEEE) as a professional Division of the Society.

Please note that at no time did the Council of the Nigerian Society of Engineers give approval for the registration of Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers.

Esteemed members of the Great and Honourable The Nigerian Society of Engineers are, therefore, further advised not to go into any transaction with any individual or group of persons or any entity under the guise of the Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers or its leadership, as they are not a Division of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, do not represent the interest of the Society, and do not have the authority of the Council of the Society to act on its behalf.

Further to the above, the Council, at its 445th meeting held on Thursday, September 15, 2022, resolved as follows:

  1. That henceforth NSE Divisions, Branches and Members should not deal or transact any business with the Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers under any leadership operating under the name: Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers.
  2. That NSE Branches should constitute Chapters with the name: Nigerian Institution of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and organize election accordingly, if not already done.
  3. That the National Executive Committee of the Nigerian Society of Engineers should liaise with the Chapters at the NSE Branches to coordinate and constitute a Caretaker Committee to pilot the affairs of the Nigerian Institution of Electrical and Electronics Engineers at the National Level.
