Job Title:
HEAD, FINANCE & ACCOUNTING
Job Summary:
To undertake all functions relating to the management of the Society’s books of accounts and finances, and provide the National Executive Committee (EXCO) and the Council with accurate and timely financial information and reports.
Employment type: Full Time
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field
- Professional certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) is highly required.
- Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) will be an added advantage
Experience:
- Ten to fifteen (10 – 15) years’ work experience, with at least five (5) years in a similar leadership role.
Competency and Skills Requirement:
- Ability to develop and implement financial strategies aligned with organisational goals
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and regulations
- Expertise in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and reporting
- Proficiency in software applications such as QuickBooks and Peachtree
- Strong leadership skills to manage and develop finance teams
- Unimpeachable personal integrity
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to identify and mitigate financial risks
- Strong detail-oriented and problem-solving skills
- Ability to adapt to changing financial landscapes and organisational priorities
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee the proper maintenance of the Secretariat’s books of accounts and finances
- Manage the Secretariat’s investment portfolio for optimal returns
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of the Secretariat’s financial and management reports
- Review the Secretariat’s cost structure and position, and make appropriate cost management recommendations
- Coordinate the Secretariat’s budget planning, reporting and management processes
- Implement yearly approved budget
- Manage accounts receivables and payables
- Provide required support to external auditors to ensure effective and timely completion of the audit/examination process
- Act as the Secretary to the Finance and Budget Board.
