The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), a leading professional organization in Nigeria with a membership strength of over seventy thousand Engineers, is desirous of recruiting a competent, self-motivated and result-oriented candidate to fill the vacant position described below.

Job Title:

FACILITY MANAGER

Employment type: Full Time

Location: National Engineering Centre, Central Business District, Abuja

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • Corporate Membership of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE)
  • Registration with COREN (Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria)
  • A Master degree in Engineering or MBA will be an added advantage

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years post-graduation work experience in engineering or the built environment
  • At least 3 of the 10 years should be in a Facility Management position

Competencies:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities
    • Budgeting and financial management expertise
    • Knowledge of facility management software and systems
    • Leadership and team management skills
    • Ability to endure unpredictable environmental conditions at the work place (such as varying temperature, humidity, etc.)
    • Development and mastery of facility inspections and site visits strategies

Job Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the maintenance of all facilities and equipment within the Secretariat complex
  • Handling emergencies and unplanned incidents, such as repairs and safety issues.
  • Monitoring expenses and controlling costs related to facility management.
  • Monitoring energy usage and implementing energy-saving measures
  • Conducting regular safety inspections and drills, in conjunction with the HSE Manager.
  • Communicating policies, procedures and important updates related to facility management.
  • Identifying opportunities for cost-saving and efficiency improvements.
  • Other assigned responsibilities.
