NSE Signs MoU with Dorman Long Engineering Limited in Lagos.

Lagos, Nigeria – The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Dorman Long Engineering Limited in Lagos for collaboration in the areas of Training, Consultancy, and Human Capital Development.

While signing the MoU, the President of NSE, Engr. Margaret Aina Oguntala, FNSE, emphasized that the visit was aimed at legitimizing the standing relationship between both organizations. She highlighted that the collaboration areas outlined in the MoU align with the NSE Strategic Agenda, which the Society has been actively pursuing. She also expressed appreciation to Dorman Long Engineering Limited for its unwavering support and commitment to the Engineering profession and the NSE.

Signing on behalf of Dorman Long Engineering Limited, the Managing Director/CEO, Engr. Chris Ijeli, commended NSE for its dedication to Engineering advocacy and professional development. He encouraged the Society to intensify advocacy efforts on policies that would benefit indigenous Engineering firms, acknowledging the impact NSE has made in the past 1year.

Engr. Ijeli further stated that a key component of the MoU includes the training of NSE student members as well as one-year training with stipends for Graduate members. He noted that developing young Engineers has always been a core value of Dorman Long Engineering Limited, adding that the company has benefitted immensely from the skills of past trainees, many of whom now hold management positions within the organization.

Following the MoU signing, the NSE delegation embarked on a facility tour to gain deeper insights into Dorman Long’s operations and contributions to the Engineering sector. This partnership marks a significant milestone in the continuous efforts of NSE to foster professional growth and industry collaboration for the advancement of Engineering in Nigeria.
