JOB OPPORTUNITIES AT THE NIGERIAN SOCIETY OF ENGINEERS Featured

NSEHeaderRealThe Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), a leading professional organization in Nigeria with over fifty thousand members is desirous of recruiting competent,

self-motivated and result-oriented candidates to fill the vacant positions listed below. The location of employment is the National Engineering Centre, Abuja.

  1. HEAD PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT

Job Objective:

To improve the overall professional development of the NSE members, develop and implement guidelines for continuous professional Development (CPD), professional courses, examinations and seminars, as well as coordinate the consultancy services of the Society.

Required Qualifications:

  • First Degree in Engineering
  • Higher Degree in Engineering will be an added advantage
  • Must be a corporate member of NSE and registered with COREN
  • Membership of the Society shall not be less than five years
  • Minimum of ten (10) years post-graduation relevant experience
  • Candidate should have a mix of academia and industry practice experience
  • Must possess a flair for research and training
  • Must be capable of generating new ideas for new models of professional development
  • Must be computer literate, innovative and analytical
  • Must possess leadership skills
  1. HEAD, FINANCE UNIT

Job Objective:

  • To undertake all functions relating to the management of the Secretariat’s books of accounts and finances and provide the National EXCO and Council with accurate and timely financial information and reports, as well as manage the Secretariat’s investment portfolio.

Required Qualification:

  • First Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
  • A professional certificate such as ICAN, ANAN, ACA or ACCA is a prerequisite.
  • A Higher Degree will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years’ post-graduation relevant experience
  • Must have good knowledge of tax management, financial analysis, cost accounting and budgeting.
  • Must be computer literate and specifically versed in QuickBooks Software.
  • Must Possess leadership skill and high level of integrity.
  • Must have held a comparable senior position in a relevant organization

 

  1. HEAD, INTERNAL AUDIT UNIT

Job objective:

  • To manage operational risks, protect the society’s assets and minimize losses through the development and implementation of adequate and firm internal control measures.

Required Qualifications:

  • First Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
  • A professional certificate such as ICAN, ANAN, ACA, ACCA is a prerequisite.
  • A Higher degree will be an added advantage
  • Minimum of ten (10) years’ post-graduation relevant experience in audit and internal control.
  • Must possess strong analytical and account reconciliation skills
  • Must be computer literate
  • Must possess a high level of integrity
  • Must have held a comparable senior position in a relevant organization
  1. MEDIA & CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER

Job Objective:

  • To assist in implementing the society’s strategies and programmes on media/external relations. Corporate communications, publicity and advocacies, with a view to projecting the society’s image positively.

Required Qualifications:

  • First Degree in Mass Communications or any of the Social Sciences or Humanities Courses.
  • Training in Journalism or Creative Writing will be added advantage.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years post-qualification relevant experience in similar job position
  • Must be computer literate and possess creative thinking abilities.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and public relations skills.
  • Must be knowledgeable and constantly abreast with National affairs and trending issues in the public space.
  • Must be able to work and achieve results with minimal supervision.
  1. GOVERNMENT AND LEGISLATIVE RELATIONS OFFICER

Job Objective:

  • To act as a focal person in NSE, to liaise with Government Ministries and Agencies, as well as the National Assembly on Legislative Matters.

Required Qualifications:

  • First Degree in Engineering or any of the Social Sciences. An MBA will be an added advantage.
  • Membership of a recognized public relations institute will be an added advantage.
  • Creative Writing will be added advantage.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years post-qualification relevant experience in similar job position
  • Must be computer literate, initiative and possess creative thinking abilities.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and public relations skills.
  • Must be knowledgeable and constantly abreast with National affairs and trending issues in the public space.
  • Must be able to work and achieve results with minimal supervision.

 

  1. PROTOCOL OFFICER

Job Objective:

  • To Plan foreign and domestic travels, ceremonies and special events. Identify security risks and create safety plans. Plan and send invitations for the President’s courtesy visits, ensure compliance with NSE established protocol in seating arrangements, arrange photo opportunities as well as ensure compliance with globally accepted polite behaviour at all events. Manage all logistics.

Required Qualifications:

  • First Degree in Arts and Social Sciences.
  • Relevant of post graduate degree will be an added advantage
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in handling of travels and protocol activities for Nigerian is an added advantage.
  • 5 years relevant work experience in Office Management, Protocol, Public Administration and any other relevant discipline.
  • Excellent interpersonal, report writing and communication skills.
  • Must be computer literate, innovative and analytical.
  • Must possess good leadership skills.
