Re: DISCLAIMER: THE NIGERIAN INSTITUTE OF ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC ENGINEERS IS NOT THE SAME AS THE NIGERIAN INSTITUTION OF ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS ENGINEERS Featured
Dear Distinguished Engineer
You will recall that sometimes in September, 2022, the Council of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) issued
a disclaimer informing you that a group of persons has registered a parallel body with the Corporate Affairs Commission with the name Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers.
We wish to again bring to your attention that in accordance with Article 3 (l) of the Articles of Association of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (revised May, 2022), the Council of the Nigerian Society of Engineers established, and therefore, only recognizes The Nigerian Institution of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (NIEEE) as a professional Division of the Society.
Please we wish to reiterate that at no time did the Council of the Nigerian Society of Engineers give approval for the registration of Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers.
Esteemed members of the Great and Honourable The Nigerian Society of Engineers are, therefore, further advised not to go into any transaction with any individual or group of persons or any entity under the guise of the Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers or its leadership, as they are not a Division of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, do not represent the interest of the Society, and do not have the authority of the Council of the Society to act on its behalf.
Further to the above, as directed by the Council, at its 445th meeting held on Thursday, September 15, 2022, please be informed that a Caretaker Committee comprising of the following persons has been constituted to pilot the affairs of the Nigerian Institution of Electrical and Electronics Engineers:
